Every Baby is Different

I met some friends for dinner last night, without the babies or husbands. It was nice to get to catch up without changing a diaper or eating while standing. It was also nice to hear everyone's different stories of their little ones and how they are doing. It helps put our own trials with Evan into perspective that we are doing what is right for him, regardless if it isn't exactly what the book says. Whats right for him, isn't what's right for someone else. So while we could share suggestions with each-other over sleep training, or diaper brands, bottom line is that all babies are different and should be treated as such. I also have a different experience as a working mom...Dylan and I share the night feedings since we both have to go to work the next day.I was reminded that Evan's couple of wakings at night aren't really that bad, and how thankful I am that he is healthy and that I have such a great support in Dylan. Last night, during his middle of the night feeding, I thought of my friends being up too....as if we are a little society of night owls all up at the same time, wearing holes in the carpet from bouncing and rocking along the same path and praying that sleep returns fast.

P.S. Happy 5 Month Birthday Evan!
